This is an ancient Vetala deity worshipped in Goa at the village of Loliem, who is over 8 feet tall. Vetala are a type of mystical ghostly species of beings. A famous example of them occurs in the book Kathasaritsagara, in which a king tries to capture a Vetala, but each time the Vetala tells him a story with a riddle at the end. This occurs 25 times, and those 25 stories are the basis of much of the world’s folklore (Arabian nights, Panchatantra, etc.).
The name of this country “India” is a word with no meaning. We have accepted the name given by foreign invaders, and consider that fine. But if someone says we should restore the ancient name of this land, people will say it is “communalism” (religious fanaticism).
For the last couple years there has been a tremendous propaganda campaign in India that western breeds of cows (such as Jersey cows) are not actually cows. It has come to the point that many Indians actually believe Jersey cows are a species of pig or a cross between a pig and a buffalo. As ridiculous as it sounds (and unscientific) if you search in google you will find dozens of questions of Indians asking if the Jersey cow is a pig.

In North India Hanuman Jayanti falls in April, but according to the Tamil calendar it falls in the months of December and January. This year it was in early January. Due to other work we are a little late posting these pictures, so we apologize for that.

Bitcoin is a scam made by the asuras to drain humanity’s resources. It’s no different than how they make people to slave and dig the earth for worthless shiny stones like diamonds. Diamonds have no intrinsic value, they are a worthless stone commonly available in the earth. But by creating a false value for them in society they keep humanity’s energies enslaved mining that which is worthless. They do this repeatedly in many, many fields of human endeavor.
Below are some pictures from the deepotsava festival at our temple in Chennai. For 30 days, for the month of Kartika, devotees would offer lamps to Lord Damodara and Panchamukha Hanuman every evening, accompanied by kirtan.

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the departure of one of our devotees, Radhakanta Das. He was a very hard worker for the ashram, and helped watch over most of the project work for the last 15 years. He would sit with the construction workers for hours each day in the hot sun and oversee every minor aspect of the work to make sure every thing was done properly with no waste.
Recently in the news the topic of Puri Jagannatha temple prohibiting western devotees from entering came up due to some unfortunate confrontation between a German devotee and a temple priest outside the temple.
