The universe exists independent of our perception of it. The eyes and senses are like the imperfect screens of a cell phone. Some model will have higher resolution and some lower, some are black and white, some are color, some can show photos in 3d, some can’t. Various phones can display the same image data but it will look completely different depending on the capacity of the device.
Our eyes don’t have the capacity to capture the universe, and our perception of it is just the interpretation of various data through our imperfect limited senses.
The world is not existing as our eyes perceive it. Pratyaksha is always an inferior pramana because it is based on faulty processing of data through various machines (the senses and mind).
To see the universe properly we need to upgrade our “machine” through yoga sadhana. Even then we are just increasing our perception, but still never perceiving it as is.
The Vedic shastras explain the universe from the perspective of the perfected souls who’s material senses have been purified and upgraded to the highest state possible. If there is any possibility to see the universe as it is, it is only through the eyes of such sages and rishis.

Very nice eye opening information.
Such beautiful images! And an excellent analogy with a cell phone. Indeed our dhrishti is clouded by our culture, environment and so on.
I am a bit confused since it shows Bhuloka as a flat disc with seven concentric oceans intervened by concentric land masses around it. However, we understand earth more as a sphere and not as a disc. Could you please clarify?
What we are in this Brahandam
I used to draw these on my own for better understanding. Thank you this will help
Very interesting, but where and what are really the ocean of curd, milk, wine, ghee, sugarcane syrup, pure water, and so on?
Even with more than 50 years of bhavatitam dhyana, I need some more explanations!
Simple explanation with excellent example
VERY INFORMATIVE INFORMATION.IT IS 100 PERCENT THAT OUR NORMAL EYES AND PERCEPTION DO NOT VISULISE
BUT OUR RISHIMUNI HAD THAT EYE AND MIND TO SEE IT .GREAT
maybe we not mature enough to perceive the truth of it all !!
Human body represents the macrocosm universe. Mount Meru represents the spinal cord, through which Kundalini ascends. The lower lokas represents the seven spinal centers, upper lokas represents the degree of Self Realization.
Thanks Prasad for the explanation of some symbols.
So, what represent the different oceans of salt water, milk, ghee, syrup of sugar cane, pure water, curd milk?
Very informative and nice way of explining to reach our ultimate goal of life.
Thank You Thank You
When we look at the outer universe/s as physical objects, it makes difficult to understand the Brahman/Chaitanya because it is not a subject of mind or senses.
Therefore, the picture may be seen for an individual who carries outer covers (14 lokas) of his/her journey till the liberation.
With right vision, the Sheshi uncovers himself from all these Sheha.
Beautifully represented
Thank you

The only way to perceive the Universe/Parambrahma is to merge with the Universe/Parambrahma so that I (Aham) vanishes. You will feel the indescribable Paramananda or blissfulness and nothing else. Physical senses can not perceive the Universe/Parambrahma nor the languages, signs, words etc. can describe it. Veda or knowledge of Veda is not in the books of Veda but somewhere else and when you find the place where the knowledge of Veda is or originates, you are in Parambrahma.
Where is Hanuman lokam and where is Sri Ram Lokam. Where is Parampadam.
Very descriptive illustration of the various lokas. Having spent some time researching this topic and drawing the lokas on paper in order to visually understand it, I appreciate this post and thank you sir for sharing.
OHM NAMAH SIVAYA
Beautiful illustrations and such a perfect explanation!
Absorbing imagery and most apt analogy between the human body and senses and the cell phone. Quite challenging for someone like me having had a Western Scientific Formation.
